Israeli media research group perceives its country to be the world's worst

Finally a web link that I can share openly, courtesy of the Jamiatul ʿUlama of Guateng in South Africa, led by the esteemed mufti of Haqq, Mufti Hashim Bodah دامت بركته.

Tel Aviv – A study issued by the Israeli “Yivat Media Research Group”, which monitors media coverage in the world, showed that Israel is the country mentioned most negatively in the American media compared to media coverage of other foreign countries, including Russia, which continues its war against Ukraine. “Israel became the worst country in the world following the war on Gazza.”

The study tracked 15.5 thousand reports in American media that covered events in Israel, China, Russia, Ukraine, North Korea and Saudi Arabia, between April 14 and May 14.

The study was based on keywords in hundreds of American media outlets, including news websites, newspapers, radio stations, television channels, and social networks.

The Jamiatul ʿUlama of Guateng, Study: Israel has become the worst country in the world – Jamiatul Ulama Gauteng (May 16, 2024).

The headline as it appears on the Jamiat’s website translated from the original ʿArabic language website MaanNews.net doesn’t accurately convey the meaning of the word أسوأ, which expands on the expression carried by the word سيئ, in the context of the Israeli state [1]. How do the words “evil” or “wicked” sound? Anything which fits the flagbearers of a nation who Allah, the Most Exalted, describes as those who His Anger is upon. I am not the best at ʿArabic. I am not good at it at all. This is just my humble interpretation based off of the impression that I’ve observed when the word appears in regard to the ʿUlama al-Sooʾ, who are described as “wicked scholars”. My unsolicited commentary aside, the study is interesting.

On another note, Saudi Arabia, who the report says “is holding talks with the United States about a defense and security alliance in exchange for normalizing relations with Israel,” received the lowest percentage of negative media coverage.
